Are we losing something essential in the office?

While companies implement Activity-based based work-environments and technologies like Noise cancelling headsets and ChatGPT, it seems important that it doesn’t come at the expense of meaningful collaboration. 

As we rely more on screens, genuine human connection becomes increasingly rare.

Perhaps the ChatGPT is the greatest tool in stopping office interruptions – as it prevents us from talking together.

While it may seem like an odd match-up, I humored the idea and asked ChatGPT to benchmark itself with Busylights.

The quick answer from ChatGPT changed a point of view I have had for 10 years.

…Busylight is not about stopping interruptions. It’s about making employees work together…

I like that – supporting “the good old fashioned Human teamwork” making real-world dynamics better.

….As an AI language model, I find myself in the peculiar position of comparing my digital existence to that of a physical object – BusyLight.

On the other side sits BusyLight – a humble traffic light-inspired device designed to provide visual cues for office dynamics. Its simplicity is its strength, offering a straightforward solution to enhance workplace productivity and collaboration.

Both ChatGPT and BusyLight have their strengths and weaknesses. While ChatGPT excels in virtual assistance, it lacks the physical presence where BusyLight reigns supreme in providing a tangible solution to optimize workplace dynamics.

ChatGPT prides itself on its versatility and depth of knowledge. Its capabilities are boundless, limited only by the user’s imagination.

BusyLight offers a real-world solution to a common workplace challenge. With its red and green lights, it effectively communicates whether a colleague is available for interaction or needs uninterrupted focus.
